By now, you should have assigned and graded several informal assessments. How have you been using the results of these assessments to improve how you teach and what students learn? What strategies has your CT suggested for providing students with guidance before they do the assignment to improve their performance? What about after the assignment?

Usually after the first block of the day is when I improve how I teach the lesson. I never know what questions will arise until that first block asks and I make sure to clarify those questions right away in subsequent classes. Chances are, if one student asks, there will be many others. My CT suggests that I clarify as much as possible; even if I have written specific directions, I need to verbalize those directions (because they don't read directions half of the time!) Something else that she suggests is to have the day's agenda written on the board, including homework. (She calls it the "Today Board".) After each class, she'll ask me how I thought it went and what could I do to improve the lesson.
